Stuff Included With Vista

It’s interesting to see how people use apps and what they think of them. That Damn PC has an article up about Vista’s bundled apps and what they think are good. I disagree almost 100% with their take on it. Paint hasn’t changed in a long time, but it is a simple tool that I constantly use to process photos for my blog. Why use something top heavy like photoshop when I am going to be losing 90% of the quality saving stuff for the web anyway.

I really like the backup program included with Vista as well. While not as nice as a couple of the real backup programs that I use, it is a big step forward for Microsoft. I have used it to make a couple of complete system restore backups on DVD so far.

I HATE Windows Calender, but that is probably because I prefer Outlook and use it constantly. It is running on my desktop 24/7.

I also dislike the Windows Photo Gallery. There is nothing that it does that I can’t already do by opening a folder and using paint (or photoshop) to edit them. The tags are nice, but just not something that I care about.
